Units by Class
War
Soldiers are the instruments of war, though they do not give their lives cheaply. A guild must
carefully decide what units to purchase and field if it will be successful on the battleground.
- Soldier: A soldier is a balanced unit, excelling in neither attack or defense. They
are nigh-infinite in supply, but demand 1 gold upkeep per day.
- Quickblade: Specializing in assault, these units stress attack over defense. Because
of their specialist nature, a limited supply is available each day, and they require an upkeep of 2 gold
per day.
- Phalanx: Shield-bearers sworn to defend the guild, as long as you're payed up. Like
Quickblades, they are limited in supply and have an upkeep of 2 gold. Phalanxes are targeted by the
enemy first in defensive actions.
- Slaves: While slaving is technically illegal, that does not prevent the trade from operating.
Slaves are weaker than other units, but do not require an upkeep cost. Instead, slaves have a one-time
cost of 2 gold, but the guild's public image is harmed each day they have bought or possess slaves. Slaves
are killed first in any action, so they are very effective fodder to protect Quickblades and Soldiers.
